I have 26 days to get in shape for ARMY basic training..I need help!!?

I am an 18 year old 138 pounds female so for me to pass with 150 i need to do 13 push ups 47 sit ups and do the two mile in 19:00 mins (give or take) BUT i want to do more than pass I WANT TO get a higher score!! I want to make a career out of this (25b) for now and i want to do the best i can.. I current ly can do the minimum amount of push ups and sit ups ...the 2 mile i need to work on a little but like i said i want a higher score than the minimum. I know to some people this might be a easy task but ive never been very athletic .. I just need tips on a good work out regimen and maybe diet tips it would be nice to lose a couple pounds before i leave.. I would prefer answers from former military or dieticians or nutritionists..Physical trainers?..thanks much

Do lots of running in good quality boots the best you can get is magnum they are what we use.If you need to loose weight fast wear a plastic garbage bag under your clothing as you run, it will make you sweat the weight away however you must also remember to re hydrate yourself by sucking an ice cube rather than drinking water. fat in males you see is mostly retained water you must loose more than you replace hence the ice cube and not glass after glass of water as you will then be replacing the fat you have just sweated out. good luck in your training

  • You don't have to get in shape for basic training. Basic training is to get you in shape.
I'm not former military but my husband is. They told him to report, he reported, just like everybody else does.

  • Chill out. They will help you in basic training. You only truly need to pass the final PT test, and you'll be fine as long as you take the PT there seriously.

  • Well just start eating a bit less. Then just start jogging for 20 minutes each morning and don't be too slow. And that should do it... Basic training is supposed to get you in shape.

  • Run 2 miles, pushups, crunches, squats, and lunges

  • You want to improve, watch what you eat, cut out the fat, & no more sodas. Exercise & job everyday.

  • Lots of running, that's what you'll do a lot of first. There will be PT all day everyday.....so you'll be good. Just stay away from junk food and processed food (boxed) and eat your fruits and veggies.....my son's in boot camp as I write this, getting ready to graduate and this is what he's told me.

He was in fantastic shape going in. He's a rugby play and football player and said it's not hard, just a lot of it all day. Running more than anything.
